2012 FESTIVAL

The Brisbane Emerging Art Festival aims to direct new audiences to the city’s contemporary emerging and independent arts. The festival showcases some of the most outstanding visual art, music, performance, fashion and film currently being developed in Brisbane. The best from Brisbane’s artist-run initiatives, tertiary institutions and private studios are displayed, accessible to the whole community.

The Festival is driven by a team of local curators, producers and artists who have a vision of articulating the creative culture existing within our city.

FESTIVAL HISTORY

The Brisbane Emerging Art Festival was established in 2010 to celebrate the quality of work being produced by artists aged between 18 to 35. The purpose for creating the event, was to promote the need of such a platform which recognised and supported Brisbane creatives with a significant professional development framework.

The festival has become a structure for the freshest emerging artists to produce new and experimental work. Now in its third year, The Brisbane Emerging Art Festival aims to collaborate creative disciplines, while educating and engaging a wider audience into the often unseen emerging arts.
